Mas Entreserra's Spike Lavender Honey is a raw, artisanal monofloral honey, harvested exclusively in the Baix Empordà, a privileged region in Catalonia full of lavender fields and Mediterranean flora. As a family business with over 25 years of experience, we produce this honey using a cold extraction process, never heating it, to preserve all its enzymes, vitamins, and natural properties. With the "Venda de Proximitat" label awarded by the Departament d'Agricultura, Ramaderia, Pesca i Alimentació of the Generalitat de Catalunya, we guarantee a local, sustainable, and top-quality product.

There are several types of lavender: Lavandula angustifolia (common lavender, sweet aroma, relaxing uses), Lavandula x intermedia (lavandin, hybrid with sharp and camphor aroma, for perfumery), and Lavandula latifolia (spike lavender or espiegol, strong aroma, potent medicinal properties like antiseptic and anti-inflammatory). Our honey is from the espiegol variety, rich in linalool, linalyl acetate, and thymol, according to studies in "Food Chemistry" (2019), which demonstrate its antioxidant capacity. Its antibacterial properties, demonstrated in University of Cardiff research (2018), stem from hydrogen peroxide, making it effective against bacteria like Staphylococcus aureus, ideal for wounds.
